BerlinThe system of registration here is entertaining. You have to register your address with the authorities. You can't get a bank account until you have a registration. You will have trouble renting an apartment until you have a bank account. And, of course, with no place to live how can you register?

Also, if you don't want to spend heaps of money on international phone calls you can get Skype set up.
Skype-to-Skype is free - you just need a microphone and headphones for your computer. I recommend the combo headset jobbies. That's how I talked to my parents when I was in Japan.
Yes! Now when you guys aren't on skype, I can spend the 28 cents to call your cell phone and ask you to sign on.
